Do you spend all your time working and looking after your family and little or no time on yourself? When was the last time you spent time on your own, looking after yourself? Take a few minutes now to analyse your self-care.
Download the self-care assessment and mark 1, 2, 3 or 4 for each attribute. If you score more than 150 you should think about focusing on self-care. Identify points where you marked yourself as needing improvement on the self-care assessment, then choose one area to incorporate into your life. Some things you might want to think about incorporating into your life are:
- Write a gratitude journal at the end of each day
- Try diaphragmatic breathing
- Take time out for you each day (at least 30 minutes)
- Clarity around life/vision, try creating a vision board or write a letter from the future
- Get an exercise buddy
- Try meditation. Apps like insight timer, headspace and calm can help
- Try self-development podcasts or YouTube
- Finding like-minded friends that support your self-care
- Try a technology detox for 1 hour a day (preferably before bed)
- Spend more time in nature
